About Project Vidas
Project Vidas was inspired by my grandparents, who 30 years ago, welcomed Bunishour into their home to support him with domestic chores. Bunishour moved from his village to come and work in one of the biggest cities in India, Calcutta. Around 12 years later, he had a son, named Rahul. Bunishour wanted his son to be educated, but lacked the money to send his son through the schooling system. My grandmother started to pay for Rahul’s education and tutor him in English, History, and Math. After my grandmother passed away a couple years ago, I made it my mission to keep her legacy going and volunteer with kids like Rahul who have tremendous potential, but often don’t have the support to pursue an education. At this moment, my goal is to give back to the community in the same way that my grandmother and grandfather did for Rahul.
